We have been very busy in Year 6.........
In art, we have been learning to collage through the idea of Seascapes.
As part of our WW1 topic, we had a week off timetable to re-create WW1 trenches and present our ideas about the topic in a whole school assembly. Here is the link to the Gazette article:
We have enjoyed exploring different texts in English. We have also taken part in role play to act out parts of the stroy and used ipad programs to express characters' feelings.
In maths, we have been working very hard, tackling challenges involving shape, number and reasoning.
We have taken part in whole school events such as: children in need, anti bullying workshops, school discos and PE assemblies.
Year 6 Children worked very hard this week, solving math problems.
As a reward for excellent termly attendance in the Autumn term, we had a great time at Quasar Laser in South Shields and to warm us up on the way, a lovely, warm hot chocolate at Minchella's.
The children organised a car wash to raise money for their Prom party... they had great fun and managed to raise over £50. Well Done to all involved!

As part of problem solving week, we carried out a challenge where we had to build a parachute to protect the weight of egg. Our challenge was to work co-operatively.
We have enjoyed school trips such as the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ event at the Stadium of light and Simonside climbing wall.
We took part in world book day and this year some of us became house captains.
We have also carried out team challenges.
