We took part in the RNLI workshops. Some of us tried out the RNLI outfits!
We found out how to keep ourselves safe when we visit our coastline. Year 3 practised the starfish position. This is what we learnt to do if we ever experienced cold water shock.
To understand how animals have adapted to the polar regions, we used margarine to set up a ‘blubber hands’ investigation. We tried to mimic the insulation seals and whales have to insulate them from the extreme temperatures.
During our Art lessons, we explored ways to layer and mix paints before painting a scene of Antarctica. We based our ideas on our favourite techniques of the artists, Sidney Nolan and David Abbey Paige.
For Remembrance Day, we created a display of paper poppies using cupcake cases, wrapping paper and tissue paper.
